
We are looking for an experienced Business Analyst with a consultancy background to play a key role on a range of high profile projects with our blue chip client base. Role and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will either be on client sites or in our Ipswich development centre (depending on his /her personal situation), gaining exposure to a number of high profile projects in many business sectors with varying roles and responsibilities. The key to this role is flexibility; flexibility to transfer skills from project to project, move across sectors embracing new challenges and developing new skills while working to tight deadlines.
Overview
To capture, understand, analyse and prioritise the business requirements and to produce a statement of the business needs in business terms. To work with technical consultants to determine the most appropriate solution for the situation (combination of existing practice, legacy infrastructure, business sector trends etc.).
Experience
Essential
Good working knowledge of UML; particularly Use Cases, Class Diagrams and sequence or collaboration diagrams. The ability to run workshops Strong knowledge/experience of the full project lifecycle. Excellent analytical skills - the ability to view a problem from different angles, to formulate recommendations and to support any chosen solution with a reasoned and persuasive argument.
Excellent communication skills. The ability to explain complex business problems to a wide audience (from the business or IT departments).
Ability to develop strong working relationships with a wide variety of business clients, suppliers and IS staff
Good customer presentation and facilitation skills
Problem solving ability
Desirable
Business process identification, modelling and documentation.
Experience with a process modelling tool such as WBI Modeller, ARIS, and Casewise
A good working knowledge of analysis techniques -Object Oriented Analysis and Design, Agile / eXtreme Programming methods
A good working knowledge of an analysis tool such as Rational, Select Enterprise.
Previous experience of requirements capture using structured methodologies.
Previous experience of data modelling.
The ability to gather and assimilate multiple requirements
Previous big 5 consultancy experience or equivalent
Other Skills / Experience
A delivery focused attitude with the ability to drive tasks forward and meet demanding deadlines
A willingness to be flexible in terms of work location and to undertake work at client sites as and when required
