ReThink Recruitment Solutions are currently working with a large Software Consultancy who are currently going through organic growth while expanding their technical and non technical Java Development and Architecture team and are recruiting for a Java J2EE Solution Architect to come and join their Application development and Java Architect team

You will be working as a part of a team that is responsible for the specification, architecture definition, design, development and testing of bespoke application development and integration projects. You will be well versed in Java / JEE, and supporting technologies, and the use of both proprietary and open source software to create enterprise solutions. You will understand the pros and cons of creating solutions using Commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) products vs. bespoke applications using a variety of frameworks as well as competing solutions within the market place.

Your main technical skills will include:

· Java / J2EE / JEE - Java Technology stack

· Experience in designing/ architecting complex systems using Java technologies in enterprise environments

· Full software development lifecycle experience including designing / whiteboarding / prototyping solutions, scoping and solution-ing, and supporting all aspects of its delivery

· Experience within an architecture and design functions

· Current or previous hands-on development experience


Apart from the Java technical skills mentioned above you are also required to have good communication and presentation skills as from time to time you will be required to work with a number of stakeholders of the company. Strong candidates would be able to define how logical and physical architectures mapped and how the physical infrastructure needed to be setup in order to support the proposed solution. You will also design for non-functional requirements, including availability, scalability, portability, security, etc.
