Presales Consultant / Sales Engineer / Technical Solutions Consultant required by fast growing global software vendor and industry leading technology solutions company. Working as part of dedicated pre/post sales professional services team you will use your technical knowledge and expertise to support sales teams in closing new deals and generating repeat software purchases. You will perform all elements of pre-sales support, including performing on-site and web demos to prospective and existing customers.
Key responsibilities:
# Provide software product demos both onsite and remotely, guiding customers through product evaluation and selection process and building custom proof of concepts (POCs).
# Propose and/or design technical solutions, which include creating prototypes and proof of concepts.
# Provide technical product support to customers during the presales / tender, implementation process and post go-live support.
# Deliver customer training both onsite and via web-based sessions.
# Become a product evangelist and expert in the features and benefits, including building a sound understanding of competitor products and services.
# Identify and document customer requirements and statements of work - partner with marketing and product development teams to develop software enhancements and custom add-ons to core application portfolio
To be considered for this role, you will have a broad but solid technical background (Microsoft Windows Server infrastructure technologies) and experience gained working in a client-facing environment. Prior presales experience or solution selling expertise is highly desirable. Alternatively you may be working in a Professional Services implementation team, looking to move into a more presales focused role.
Required skills and experience:
# Strong technical skills to include as many of the following; Windows Server 2003/2008 (i.e. installation, configuration, server admin, clustering, troubleshooting), Microsoft SharePoint (i.e. understanding of architecture, components and configuration), SQL Server (server admin), IIS, networking (i.e. TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, Active Directory, SMTP and DHCP technologies).
# Experience gained working for an enterprise software vendor, systems integrator or technology consultancy in a customer facing Presales Consultant / Technical Sales Engineer / Solution Consultant role.
# University Degree (ideally in Computer Science/ Engineering).
# Excellent communication (written & verbal) and presentation skills.
