Business Change Manager – £60k- £70k basic plus bonuses and benefits

Core Role Profile

  • Leading the Business Change agenda for a high street/ premium retailer
  • Ownership across all areas of change including Stakeholder Engagement, Business Readiness, and Business Process Adoption & Benefits Realization.
  • Ownership of the Communications Strategy and all communications execution for all projects.
  • Ownership of the relationship between the brand and the strategic partner for Change, Training & Project Communications.
  • Joint accountability for the success of training delivery working
  • Accountability for the successful delivery of the change agenda
  • Engaging with Senior Leaders across the business on the Change methodology and framework
  • Act as the custodian and strategic leader for the Change Management Methodology across the business
  • Build strategic relationships with all key stakeholders across the business and work alongside the IT and Business Solutions Team
  • Be the bridge between all other departments, build relationships and open communication across the business
  • Detailed Activities Required

  • Provide strategic thought leadership in Business Change Management.
  • Ownership of the overall change activity plan in all core change areas across all projects ensuring that they are on track and delivering to plan – working alongside internal and external resources and partners where required.
  • Ownership of the stakeholder engagement piece to ensure that stakeholders are engaged, their needs addressed and that they are performing their role in sponsoring and supporting the change agenda.
  • Work with the business teams on defining the KPI’s and business benefits from each of the change programmes and how they will be embedded within the organisation.
  • Ensure on-going feedback loops throughout the course of the projects and programmes so that updates/changes can be made as required to areas such as the change plans, training plans and communications plans.
  • Challenge ways of working and embed process change within the organisation.
  • Work alongside Business Process Leads to ensure that they are clear on their role within the execution of the change agenda and how the process change work sits alongside the change agenda to ensure that projects are successfully delivered.
  • Managing the execution of the Change Action Plans across all projects and programmes to ensure they are on track and delivering to plan.
  • Ensuring that all business areas as appropriate are ready for the change on all projects and programmes at go live and that all the appropriate support has been put in place through the go live period and onto post go live.
  • Support the business teams and IT and Business Solutions in ensuring that business benefits are documented, tracked and realised and that business cases exist and have been signed off for all projects and programmes.
  • Day to day management of the Business Implementation Plans as part of the business cut over planning piece to ensure that the business teams in all areas are aware of the activities that need to be completed and that these are on track prior to the go live of any project and/or programme.
  • Act as the monitoring point for the business “Go/No Go” decision points to ensure that the requirements are met appropriately and that the right sign off procedures are in place.
  • Work with teams at a detailed level to ensure that they understand the nature of the changes they are going to face because of different projects – how does it work today and what will life be like in the future, managing the transition between the two ensuring that the change is embedded in the organisation long term.
  • Work with the programme, process and business teams to ensure there is a complete understanding of all the transitional processes as well as the ideal, end state processes that they will need to ensure the change lands in their business areas.
  • Skills & Competencies Required

  • Experience of large scale business change/transformational change programmes within a retail environment including complex business process change as well as IT systems change.
  • An understanding of multiple operational environments within a retail business including; buying, merchandising, production, wholesale, supply chain, finance and design.
  • Experience of omni-channel environments.
  • An understanding of different operating models across retail.
  • Experience of both UK and International retail.
  • An understanding of Change Management, the way in which change should be managed in an operational environment not just in theory.
  • A good knowledge of communications and how to build relationships and engagement with teams. An ability to communicate with all levels in the organisation.
  • Experience of working across multiple teams including IT and Business Solutions, Architecture and business operational teams.
  • A strong leader who can challenge senior stakeholders and others within the business where required.
  • Have an ability to provide thought leadership on Change Management strategy and execution.
  • Knowledge and understanding of behavioural and cultural change and how to land change successfully within a business and within teams.
