INFRASTRUCTURE ENGINEER – AZURE WINDOWS – £40-45k – WEST SUSSEX
Our client is looking for an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to join the in-house team, adding skills and capabilities to both the business as usual support activities and the ongoing enhancement and digitisation of the business.
The key focus of the role is the provision of support to the environment of on-premise and Azure Windows based systems and the multiple applications and technologies that interact with and rely upon these. You will review, maintain, troubleshooting and correct production systems while maintaining best practice as suggested by ITIL, industry and company principles.
We are looking for an enthusiastic team player with a strong primary skill set that includes Microsoft Windows Server from 2008 R2 to 2016 (including routine Powershell knowledge); a good knowledge of VMware ESX and VCenter married to increasing knowledge of IaaS using Azure; a strong knowledge of foundation network technologies such as DNS, DHCP and protocols around TCP/IP such as FTP, SMTP; basic configuration of switching and routing on HPE/Aruba and Cisco hardware; knowledge of Microsoft infrastructure applications such as Exchange, System Centre, Lync; an understanding of Citrix and/or Terminal Server.
We are keen to see evidence of skills with our other key technologies which include SAN solutions; other Microsoft technologies (SQL, SharePoint); Firewall or security provision; networking via MPLS and Express Route; software defined networking in Azure.
You will demonstrate real world experience equating to an MCSE, be able to evidence extensive experience of administrating the listed primary technologies, good experience with a selection of the secondary technologies and display a sound level of knowledge on the foundation concepts that make up modern IT systems. You should be able to demonstrate excellent customer care and service skills.
Experience of Windows IaaS on Azure and Office 365 interoperability will be of particular interest while any scripting and programming skills will be favourably received.
